What is Low Vision?
Low vision is an umbrella term used to describe a wide spectrum of vision loss that isn’t treatable with surgery, medication, glasses or contact lenses.
This type of vision loss can be caused by eye diseases like age-related macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, eye cancers, albinism and retinitis pigmentosa. Low vision can also be congenital or acquired after a brain injury or eye injury.
Learning to Live with Low Vision
Adjusting to low vision can be daunting. Things like driving, reading, recognizing faces, watching TV and using the computer all become more difficult.
